FoF3 – Thank You and Event Video

It’s been just over a week and a half since the Yamaha Festival of Freeride 3 came to a close and only now are we getting back to a sense of normality. Another cracker of an event in which we surpassed our own expectations once again.

A massive thank you to Brendan and the team at Yamaha Marine NZ. We simply could not have put the event on without your support. Once again Yamaha were the first sponsor on board and that support really makes life a lot easier from the get go.

The contribution to the event from our major sponsors this year was fantastic. Otago Personal Watercraft, 701 Industries, Krash Industries, Supreme Blast & Paint, Rogers Boatshop, and Rapid Radio we sincerely thank you for your backing of the event.

There was the ever generous support of KP Parts, Random Performance, NZfreeride, Thrust Innovations, MB Fabrications, Motul, Air Time Products, JetManiac, HuckIt, ProRider Magazine and JetPilot. All of these sponsors made sure you had some awesome product and swag to choose from at the prize giving. As with every year, there are so many events on these days and for the event to be chosen and supported by the above is very humbling.

To all the participants of the FoF3 – thank you so very much for supporting the only free ride event in New Zealand. We are so lucky to have such a fantastic location to hold the event. Most of you had a long way to travel so we appreciate you making the effort to support the event. A huge thank you to Pierre Maixent for finding the time to come to NZ and experience the FoF. We hope you enjoyed the NZ hospitality.

A special thanks to Reece and the team from Rogers Boatshop for the, once again, delicious BBQ that they provided during the event. Thanks also to Red Bull for their support of the event, ensuring everyone was suitably energised with wiiings to go big.

A massive thank you to Simon le Comte for making time to come from Australia to NZ to support our event with his specialist water safety skills. It makes life so much easier when you have an experienced, and qualified, individual dedicated to marshalling. Thanks also to Jack Burton, who once again selflessly provided his ski for marshalling duties, was running about getting gear ready prior to the event, and was the first there on the beach each morning. And also again, a massive thanks to Pauly Paul for all his help in sussing out a lot of the gear we used on the beach. Also big thanks to the Marine Medics team for being there both days to make sure we had the appropriate medical cover.

To all the others that have contributed to the event thank you so much. You know who you are. Thank you to everyone that chipped in with setting up, running, and packing down the event. Awesome stuff and was very much appreciated.

Finally, something special has been put together by Guy Mac to capture the essence of the Yamaha NZ Festival of Freeride 3. A huge thank you to him for turning around such a fantastic event video in such a short space of time. Also, Craig Patterson, thanks so very much for coming out with your epic drone that had provided the most unbelievable footage. Very very jaw dropping stuff.

Make sure you go full screen, HD on, and plenty of sound. Enjoy, and remember to “Support those that support the sport”.

Just HuckIt at the FoF3

For those that attended the Yamaha NZ Festival of Freeride 2, one of the highlights was the delicious spread that Nigel, and the team, from Rogers Boatshop put on each morning and lunch. Well… they’re back for the Yamaha NZ Festival of Freeride 3. You can count on the team from Rogers Boatshop to be cooking up something delicious to ensure you have the energy to push your boundaries on the water. Great to have them back on board!!!

Waitangi Day announcement with a French twist

Pierre Announcement

Tēnā koutou, we hope that you are enjoying your Waitangi Day celebrations. In a special announcement to mark New Zealand’s national day we are proud to reveal that 7x IFWA World Champion, Pierre Maixent, will be attending the Yamaha NZ Festival of Freeride 3.

This has all been made possible thanks to the generosity of a small group of individuals that recognise the value, not just for the event, but for the freeride scene in New Zealand in having someone of Pierre’s stature attend.

I’m sure you are now as excited as we are to see him rip up the picturesque west coast surf of Karioitahi Beach. Everyone will have the chance to get out there and ride with him, and after that you can “chew the fat” over a beer or two at the pub. Bring on FoF3!!!
